Frequently asked questions

We don’t have minimum numbers for our tours so solo travellers are very welcome.

Groups will normally be no more than five or six but we can take up to 12 people.

Yes, we do. We are fully covered to take people on cycle tours.

You don’t have to but we recommend that you do, for safety reasons. We have some lovely orange helmets which are fully adjustable, or you can of course bring your own if you prefer.

You can bring your own bike as long as it’s safe and roadworthy but we won’t be able to do any repairs to it or wait for you if you need to fix it on the way round. If you have an accident because of a mechanical problem with your bike, we are not liable.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before we’re due to set off. This will give you time to try out your bike and for us to adjust the height of the saddle. If you’re unavoidably delayed, please call to let us know and we’ll do our best to wait, though in fairness to other riders, we can’t guarantee it.

Please choose a tour and click on the booking tab. You can pay online. If you prefer to speak to someone, give us a call on +44 (0)7764 964142 or +44 (0)7885 211995 and we can take your payment by phone. If we don’t answer, please leave a message or text and we’ll phone back as soon as we can.

Ideally, yes. But we realise sometimes plans change or it’s nice to make an impromptu decision. We take bookings online up to 24 hours in advance. If you decide you’d like to join us within 24 hours of the tour starting, give us a call on +44 (0)7764 964142 or +44 (0)7885 211995 and we’ll do our best to fit you in.

Cardiff has a network of segregated cycle paths and our tours are designed to keep you away from the traffic as far as possible. As with any physical activity, however, there are some risks, and your safety is our top priority. Before we set off, there’ll be a safety orientation and bicycle rundown. If we feel that a client isn’t safe to go on the tour, we reserve the right to refuse participation.

The tours are very easy as Cardiff is mostly flat. There’ll be plenty of short breaks on the way round as we stop to tell you about the city. If you’re comfortable with cycling at a very gentle pace for two to three hours, you’ll be fine. If you take a longer tour out of the city (for example our Three Castles Tour) we cover more mileage but the cycling is still fairly gentle.

We’re in Wales so we can’t let a little rain stop us. Please come dressed for the weather although we do provide waterproof ponchos to help keep you dry. In the case of really extreme conditions, we reserve the right to cancel the tour up to one hour before start time. In that case we’ll contact you on the phone number you provided on booking, and you’ll receive credit for a future ride or a full refund.

Our bikes are well maintained but in the unlikely event that you can’t complete a ride because of a mechanical problem, we’ll arrange for you to be transported back to the starting location and you’ll receive a full refund.

The tours are in English but please email us if you’d like a tour in a different language and we’ll do our best to help: [email protected]

Wear suitable clothes for the weather conditions, flat and ideally closed shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen if it’s sunny. Bring water in hot weather. We supply helmets but you can bring your own if you’d rather.

Yes, we’ll stop to tell you about places of interest and we’ll have a short refreshment/toilet break.

We do take older children (at a reduced rate) but they must be at least 1.47m tall (4ft 11) because of the size of our bikes. They must be accompanied by an adult.

You can leave luggage locked up in our storage facility at your own risk but we recommend you take valuables with you.

We meet you in the city centre in Little Man Coffee, Bridge Street, Cardiff, CF10 2EE. What3Words: https://w3w.co/inches.year.mats Relax and grab a coffee. We’ll come and find you in the café.

The café is a 10 minute walk from Cardiff Central Station or a three minute walk from Queen Street Station. Paid parking is available in the NCP Cardiff Rapports car park just behind the café.

We have a great charity in Cardiff called Pedal Power which has bikes of all types for hire, including tricyles and side-by-side bikes. With enough notice we can try to arrange a suitable bike for almost any adult but there will be an additional cost. Please contact us well in advance to discuss.
